Expanding textfields maintaining horizontal position

Posted in: - Aug 16, 2011 3 Comments

This example shows you how to set up expanding textfields that will maintain their relative horizontal/x position, as they expand onto a new page. While you would normally place expanding objects in a Flowed subform, in this case you wrap the textfields in a Positioned subform, but set its height to Auto-fit.

An alternative would be to use a Table object in a Flowed subform.

    Hi there.

Is is possible to have something similar working however instead of having 3 positioned text boxes, have 3 subforms holding texts boxes which are flowed Top to Bottom inside a containing subform which is flowed Western text?

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

      Jonathan,

Working with subforms in this way can be much more difficult, as you will have pagination issues to consider. I have tried this before, but get unsatisfactory behaviour. If I get a workaround, I will post it here.
